How Medical Professionals Verify AI, and What That Means for Product Design

Evaluated an AI reading assistant prototype for a medical publisher by testing with 9 medical scientists. Comparative testing revealed that all participants preferred an embedded side-by-side layout, not for convenience, but because they needed to visually verify AI outputs against the source in real time. This "Verification Loop" led to a strategic pivot: from a simple chat interface to a "Grounding UI" with inline citations and auto-scrolling to evidence.

Optimizing Navigation for Higher Conversion

Led an end-to-end information architecture redesign for a medical publisher's website. A stakeholder workshop, GA4 analysis, and competitive benchmarking revealed buried high-value content, including a "hidden gem" page with the site's longest engagement but almost no traffic. The new navigation structure surfaced strategic content and reduced friction to conversion.

Designing for Device Orientation: Landscape Mode

Tackled a gap in a live sports betting app where users couldn't place bets while watching streams in landscape mode. Through functional analysis of major streaming platforms, contextual enquiry with 8 bettors, and iterative prototyping, I designed an immersive landscape betting experience, uncovering key accessibility implications for fixed-orientation devices along the way.

Karger Image Explorer: From Qualitative Insight to Data-Validated Discovery

Led usability testing and GA4 analysis for a scientific image platform generating $200K/year in permissions revenue. Uncovered a systemic discoverability failure: users weren't finding the search, and those who did couldn't find the permissions path. Used analytics to challenge a proposed quick fix before it was built.
